What is the difference between a nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian (RD)?

What is a nutrition session like?

An initial PCOS nutrition assessment is approximately 90 minutes. In this comprehensive session, we will examine your medical history and current treatment for PCOS. After conducting an in-depth nutrition assessment of your eating habits, we will discuss PCOS and the best nutrition approach for the syndrome. Steps you will need to meet your personal goals and see lasting changes in your health will be implemented. All meal plans and instructions are individualized.

Follow up sessions are approximately 45 minutes. While not required, many women find follow up sessions supportive and helpful with implementing goals. All information is kept confidential.

Is phone or on-line nutrition counseling as beneficial as an in-person session?

Nutrition counseling on-line (SKYPE) or by phone is just as effective as face-to-face sessions only you get to be in the comfort of your own home. Once payment is received and your appointment is scheduled, you will be emailed call-in instructions and handouts that will be reviewed during your session.

Do you take insurance?

No, but you will be provided a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. Some insurance companies cover nutrition counseling, however, many do not. You can call your insurance and find out if they pay for "medical nutrition therapy" for PCOS and other conditions you may have. You will be responsible for the full amount of your session. Reimbursement from your insurance provider will then go directly to you.

What is your payment and cancellation policy?

A credit card is required to reserve your session and is charged if you fail to give 48 hours cancellation notice. In-person sessions may be paid by any credit card, cash or check. Phone or SKYPE sessions must be paid by credit card.
